Wood

Timber tops can be sanded and refinished, and burns and dents repaired.

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface bonded to a board. Damage is filled and the pattern painted in by hand.

Worktop repair at your home in Ridgeway View

Different worktops need different repairs: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. Typical jobs include burns from hot pans and a dent from a dropped pan, in quartz, granite & marble and solid wood.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Repair or replace in Ridgeway View?

Replacing a worktop means removing the old one, cutting and fitting a new one and reconnecting the sink and hob, and it may not match the rest of the kitchen. A repair keeps your existing worktop. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

FAQs for Ridgeway View

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

How quickly can you book me in?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Do I need to be at home?

We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Do I need to clear the kitchen?

Just near the damage. You can generally still use the rest of the kitchen.

Can you match the pattern on my worktop?

We match colour, flecks and veining by hand, so the repair blends into the surface.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Ridgeway View as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

How it works

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow a few hours from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. The area around the damage is protected.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed and polished to match.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Ask for a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire worktop, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Aftercare tips

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Watch the edges with heavy pans
  • Keep wood oiled
  • Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
  • Don’t cut directly on the worktop

Never put hot pans straight onto the worktop. Heat can mark quartz and stone as well.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use, especially near the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.

Honest limits

A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • A cracked stone top that is unsupported
  • Discolouration deep in quartz
  • Laminate that has blown or swollen

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
