Worktop repair at your home in Romannobridge

Matching a pattern is the skilled part of a worktop repair. Colour, flecks and veining are recreated by hand so the repair blends in. We’re often asked to fix damage from fitting or building work and scratches and knife marks, on solid surface (such as Corian), solid wood and laminate.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

How we price worktop repair

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed price

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • The material, if you know it
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Romannobridge questions

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

What areas do you cover?

All of the Scottish Borders, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

Can you match the pattern on my worktop?

Colour, flecks and veins are recreated by hand, for a repair that blends in.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Will there be a smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

How soon can you come?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

How the visit works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Plan for a morning or an afternoon. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The area around the damage is protected.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. We seal and polish it to the right sheen.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Advice

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Keep a trivet by the hob
  • Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
  • Re-oil timber worktops
  • Don’t let water sit on joints

Wipe water away from joints and around the sink, especially on laminate and wood.

Damage near the sink is worth repairing quickly, because water gets in and swells the board.

Repairing versus replacing in Romannobridge

Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is normally far better value. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
