Worktop repair for Salt homes

Worktop repair at your home in Salt

The hard part of a worktop repair is matching the pattern. Colour, flecks and veining are recreated by hand so the repair blends in. Common call-outs are for chips near the sink and a dent from a dropped pan, on quartz, solid surface (such as Corian) and solid wood.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we have gone.

How we price worktop repair

Repairs from £95. You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • How many areas need work
  • The material
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How easy the damage is to reach

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Send photos for a quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • One picture of the entire worktop
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Where you are, by postcode

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole worktop, we can give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Even if you could get the same laminate, it may not match after years of light and use. A repair is matched to what you have now. Our worktop repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Most jobs done in one visit

Aftercare tips

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Chopping boards prevent scratches
  • Don’t knock pans against the edge
  • Clean spills right away
  • Oil wooden tops regularly

Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.

Do not leave damage by the sink, because water gets in and swells the board.

Salt questions

How do I get a price for worktop repair in Salt?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Do the materials smell?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Can a scorch mark be fixed?

Usually, yes. We remove the damaged surface, fill it and recreate the pattern.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the entire UK, including Salt and the rest of Staffordshire. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote with dates.

How it works

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for a few hours from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. It’s filled and levelled with the surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. We seal and polish it to the right sheen.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Advice

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Failed support under the worktop
  • Cracks right through stone that has moved
  • Discolouration deep in quartz

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Laminate
  • Granite & marble
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Quartz
  • Solid wood

Different materials, different repairs

Granite and stone

Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.

Quartz

Quartz is tough, though edges can chip. Chips are filled with tinted resin and polished.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

Do you need worktop repair in Salt?

Cut-outs for the sink and hob are the weakest parts, and that is where cracks frequently begin.
