Worktop repair for Seaton homes

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Worktop repair in Seaton, done in place

Burns from hot pans, chips on edges and scratches from knives make up most of our worktop work. We repair them all in your kitchen. Typical jobs include chips near the sink and dents and gouges, across laminate, solid wood and granite & marble.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

When a repair is not the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Severe heat marks in quartz
  • Failed support under the worktop
  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Common questions in Seaton

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Can you repair a burn in a worktop?

Frequently, yes. We remove the damaged surface, fill it and recreate the pattern.

Can you match the pattern on my worktop?

We match colour, flecks and veining by hand, so the repair blends into the surface.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Typically, yes. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Do you charge for travel?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

What happens if you find more damage?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If the worktop is swollen by water or badly damaged along its length, replacement may be the answer. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is typically far better value. Our worktop repair starts from £95. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

How to care for the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Keep joints and edges dry
  • Never put hot pans down directly
  • Re-oil timber worktops
  • Take care with heavy pans near edges

Never put hot pans straight onto the worktop. Heat can mark quartz and stone as well.

Do not leave damage by the sink, as water can get in and cause swelling.

Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

When to call us in Seaton

Cut-outs for the sink and hob are the weakest parts, so cracks and chips often start there.

The things customers generally mention when they call include:

  • Chips near the sink
  • Cuts and scratches in the surface
  • Burns from hot pans
  • Chips on edges and corners

Before booking anyone

  • How to care for the finish
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • How long it needs to cure

Choosing a repair company

What happens on the day

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which generally takes a few hours, depending on the damage. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
  2. We cut back any burnt or loose material.
  3. The area is filled and shaped.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Open a window if you can
