Worktop repair in Slough

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Before and after: damaged granite tiles repaired in place

For landlords and businesses

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Common questions in Slough

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Do you repair quartz?

Yes. The repair is colour-matched and polished to the quartz’s finish.

What happens after I send photos?

You’ll get a fixed quote back. You’re under no obligation.

Is a burnt worktop repairable?

Typically. A photo lets us check what’s possible.

Do the materials smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

How do I book?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

Do you work in Slough?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Slough and the rest of Slough. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If the worktop is swollen by water or badly damaged along its length, replacement may be the answer. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is generally far better value. Our worktop repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, repairing typically costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface over a board. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern by hand.

Granite and stone

Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
  2. The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
  3. We fill the damage with a suitable filler and build up any lost edge.
  4. The colour and pattern are matched by hand.
  5. The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.

How to prepare

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Signs you need worktop repair in Slough

Cut-outs for the sink and hob are the weakest parts, so cracks and chips often start there.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A heat mark or burn
  • Dents and gouges
  • Cuts and scratches in the surface
  • Damage around the sink cut-out

Comparing quotes

Choosing a repair company

Keeping it looking good

A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:

  • Chopping boards prevent scratches
  • Re-oil timber worktops
  • Take care with heavy pans near edges
  • Dry around the sink and joints

Hot pans should always go on a trivet. Even stone and quartz can be marked by heat.

Do not leave damage by the sink, because water gets in and swells the board.

What a repair cannot fix

We won’t take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • Cracks right through stone that has moved

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.
