How we price worktop repair

Repairs from £95. There is no charge for travel to Stanley. The price depends on:

  • The material and finish
  • How much damage there is
  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send photos for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A photo taken from further back

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Worktop repair in Stanley without replacing anything

Matching a pattern is the skilled part of a worktop repair. Colour, flecks and veining are recreated by hand so the repair blends in. Whether it’s damage to a stone worktop and scorch marks from pans, we can normally put it right.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Clean spills straight away
  • Steer clear of strong cleaners
  • Don’t knock pans against the edge
  • Always use a trivet for hot pans

Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards protect it best.

Edge chips can get bigger, and on laminate, water can get into the core. An early repair prevents it.

The process

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you’re not left guessing. Once we are there, the work takes a morning or an afternoon in most cases. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. We clean the damage and remove anything loose.
  3. It’s filled and levelled with the surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed and polished to match.

Should you replace it?

Stone and quartz have to be templated and cut, so replacing one section is a big job. Repairing it is a few hours’ work. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Solid surface

Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so marks can frequently be sanded and refinished.

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

When a repair is not the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath
  • A top that moves on its units
  • Through cracks in stone that is moving

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Granite & marble
  • Quartz
  • Solid wood
