Worktop repair at your home in The Valley

Burns from hot pans, chips on edges and scratches from knives are the most common worktop repairs. All are repaired in place. Our repair technicians work on solid wood, quartz and laminate, and the jobs we see most are a dent from a dropped pan and damage to a stone worktop.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in The Valley and across Kent.

Aftercare tips

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone
  • Do not let water sit on joints
  • Do not cut directly on the worktop
  • Take care with heavy pans near edges

Let the repair cure for the time we give you before putting anything heavy or hot on it. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.

Edge chips can get bigger, and on laminate, water can get into the core. An early repair prevents it.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • Through cracks in stone that is moving
  • Failed support under the worktop
  • Discolouration deep in quartz

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Laminate
  • Quartz
  • Granite & marble
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Solid wood

Repairing versus replacing in The Valley

If the worktop is swollen by water or badly damaged along its length, replacement may be the answer. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is normally far better value. Our worktop repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Choosing a repair company

How it works

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a few hours.

  1. We assess the damage and the worktop material.
  2. Next we clean up and prepare the damaged area.
  3. We fill with a filler suited to the material and rebuild any missing edge.
  4. The colour and pattern are matched by hand.
  5. The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.

How to prepare

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Advice

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Questions from The Valley

Do you hold any accreditations?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Do I need to empty the worktop?

Just near the damage. The rest of the kitchen stays usable.

Do you repair quartz?

Yes. Chips on edges and around the sink are very common repairs, matched and polished.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Do I need to be at home?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Usually, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Landlords, agents and businesses in The Valley

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

If you manage property in The Valley, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

What your worktop is made of matters

Granite and stone

Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

Solid surface

Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so scratches and burns can frequently be sanded out and refinished.
