Worktop repair in Tividale

Worktop repair at your home in Tividale

Each type of worktop needs a different approach: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. We’re often asked to fix chips on edges and corners and damage around the sink cut-out, on solid wood, solid surface (such as Corian) and quartz.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll sort it.

Should you replace it?

Stone and quartz have to be templated and cut, so replacing one section is a big job. Repairing it is a few hours’ work. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What you get with us

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • No need to remove anything
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • We leave the room as we found it

Keeping it looking good

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Don’t cut directly on the worktop
  • Never put hot pans down directly
  • Keep joints and edges dry
  • Re-oil timber worktops

Hot pans should always go on a trivet. Even stone and quartz can be marked by heat.

A chip on an edge can grow, and water can reach the core of laminate. An early repair prevents it.

Questions from Tividale

Do you repair quartz?

Yes. We match the colour and polish the repair.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

Do you cover Tividale?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Tividale and the rest of Sandwell. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Can you repair a burn in a worktop?

Frequently, yes. The burn is cut back, filled and patterned to match.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:

  • A top that moves on its units
  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Granite & marble
  • Laminate
  • Solid wood
  • Quartz
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.

Solid surface

Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so marks can often be sanded and refinished.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Common problems we fix in Tividale

Most chips are on edges and corners, generally from pans, tins or dishes knocked against them.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Chips caused during installation
  • Chips in quartz or granite
  • Damage around the sink cut-out
  • Cuts and scratches in the surface
