About our bath re-enamelling in Anstey
A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. We work on Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths, and people most frequently call us about an old resurfacing that’s failing and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it.
You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Landlord and trade work in Anstey
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
The process
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes most of the day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Before we arrive
- Ensure the area is dry
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Ensure the room can be ventilated

Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
Why repair rather than replace?
For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s also far quicker. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Aftercare tips
To keep it looking its best:
- Do not leave a chip unrepaired
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, so limescale cannot build up.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading and make the job bigger. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Anstey. What changes the price is:
- How hard the colour is to match
- Doing more than one item at once
- The material
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Getting a price from photos
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:
- One picture of the entire bath
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can give you a fixed quote.
Anstey questions
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
Is my repair covered?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.
When can you do it?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
Can you quote from pictures?
In nearly every case. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

When a repair is not the answer
We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- A bath that’s rusted through
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
