Bath re-enamelling at your home in Ashbourne
We do not move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the next day. Typical jobs include a roll-top that’s seen better days and a coloured bath you want in white, on pressed steel baths, Victorian roll-tops and basins & shower trays.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

The process
Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Plan for most of the day. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Before we arrive
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Clear the area around the damage
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
Getting a price
We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
Advice
Aftercare tips
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further.
Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Ashbourne
Older baths frequently have several problems at once: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Resurfacing sorts them out together.
Send us a picture if you notice any of these:
- Several chips and rust patches
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
What to look for in a quote

- Who turns up on the day
- Whether they match the colour on site
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
DIY kit or professional repair?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Ashbourne. The price reflects:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Unusual colours or finishes
- How much damage there is
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
How to get a fixed quote
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:
- Where you are, by postcode
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A photo taken from further back
