Bath Re-enamelling in Bolton
Full bath re-enamelling and resurfacing for homes and businesses in Bolton and the surrounding area. Free, fixed quotes from your pictures.
- Resurfacing from £350
- A coloured bath you want in white
- An old resurfacing that is failing

Should you replace it?
Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Why us?
- No extra charge for your area
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- One visit for most repairs
- Every repair guaranteed for a year
Read our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.
How we handle bath re-enamelling in Bolton
After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. Common call-outs are for worn patches where water runs and sits and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring, on acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops.
You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The type of damage
- The material
- Doing more than one item at once
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
How to get a fixed quote
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- Where you are, by postcode
- Natural light rather than flash
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.
The process
We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the work takes most of the day. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s typically ready the day after.
Preparing for the visit
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Advice
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.
What we’re called out for in Bolton
The gloss on enamel is thin, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.
Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- Stains that won’t shift
- An old resurfacing that’s failing
- A dull, rough surface that will not come clean

Questions from Bolton
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
Will there be a smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work.
How quickly can you book me in?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
How do I book?
Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.
Is it messy?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
Do you need to take the bath out?
Not at all. We work on the bath in place, with the room masked and ventilated.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
How long does re-enamelling take?
Usually a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.
DIY kit or professional repair?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Aftercare tips
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Have chips seen to early
Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
