Need bath re-enamelling in Boston Spa?

Bath re-enamelling in Boston Spa without replacing anything

After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, so we don’t cut corners on it. We’re often asked to fix an old resurfacing that’s failing and a roll-top that’s seen better days, on acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

FAQs for Boston Spa

How soon can you come?

We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Do you work in Boston Spa?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Boston Spa. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How long does re-enamelling last?

Care for it and it lasts. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.

Is there a smell?

A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.

Do you need to take the bath out?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so nothing else is disturbed.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide. Prices don’t change with location.

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.

The process

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to a full day, including clearing up.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

Before we arrive

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Clear the area around the damage

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

How to look after the repair

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the next day. Prices start from £350. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why book with us

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Usually one visit, start to finish

For landlords and businesses

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Boston Spa as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it typically costs far less than a refit.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Boston Spa

Previous coatings can fail too, lifting by the plughole or blistering. We strip what’s failing and start again.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
  • Several chips and rust patches
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits

Questions to ask before booking

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • How changes to the job are handled

Our hiring checklist

When we would advise against a repair

We will not take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • A metal bath with a through crack

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
