Bath re-enamelling near Brentingby

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Brentingby

We re-enamel a lot of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Whether it’s a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and chips and rust in more than one place, we can usually put it right, on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops alike.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

When we would advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths

For landlords and businesses

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Brentingby. What changes the price is:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Getting a price from pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • The material, if you know it
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

Should you replace it?

A replacement frequently means several trades over several days. Resurfacing takes one technician and generally a day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

See our pricing or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes a full day, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

How to get a price

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Brentingby

Are there extra charges for Brentingby?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What does bath re-enamelling cost?

Resurfacing from £350. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.

Will there be fumes?

Some odour is normal while we spray, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It fades as the coating cures.

How do I book?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Does the bath have to be removed?

No. We resurface it in place, so the tiles and taps stay put.

Do you come to Brentingby?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Brentingby. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best:

  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Never use suction bath mats
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away

Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.

Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

DIY kit or professional repair?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
