Bath re-enamelling near Brigg

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How to get a fixed price

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Any details about the material
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Email us photos of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you are in Brigg, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Bath re-enamelling in Brigg without replacing anything

We don’t move the bath, so the taps, tiles and plumbing aren’t touched. It typically takes one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. Whether it’s chips and rust in more than one place and staining under the taps and around the waste, we can help, on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops alike.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

Should you replace it?

Replacing the bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and days without a bathroom. Re-enamelling gives the bath a new finish with the bath left where it is. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

When a repair is not the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Steel that has corroded right through

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths

How the visit works

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take the best part of a day. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s normally ready the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Ask for a price

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Common problems we fix in Brigg

Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Several chips and rust patches
  • Wear marks under the taps
  • Stains that will not shift
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring

Choosing a repair company

Keeping it looking good

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Get any chip repaired quickly

Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, do not use suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
