Bath re-enamelling in Brock Hill without replacing anything

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. We’re frequently asked to fix an original cast iron bath that needs restoring and staining under the taps and around the waste, on Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Repair or replace in Brock Hill?

Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: they’re heavy, often need breaking up, and a new one is not cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

What you get with us

  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for the best part of a day from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can typically be used the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material and finish
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many areas need work

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

How to get a fixed quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:

  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

When we’d advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths

Brock Hill questions

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes, most people go for white. Mention the colour you want when you send photos.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working that clears as it cures.

How long does re-enamelling last?

A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide. Our prices are the same everywhere.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole bath and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Brock Hill as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it typically costs far less than a refit.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • Get any chip repaired quickly

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, to stop limescale building up.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
