Need bath re-enamelling in Bryndioddef-isaf?

Bath re-enamelling in Bryndioddef-isaf without replacing anything

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Common call-outs are for a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off, on cast iron baths, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are covered after the visit.

When we would advise against a repair

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we work on in Bryndioddef-isaf

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Should you replace it?

For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A repair normally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

How to look after the repair

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Have chips seen to early
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured

Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, and rinse off any bath products.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.

What we do, step by step

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take most of the day, tidy-up included.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Bryndioddef-isaf

Are there extra charges for Bryndioddef-isaf?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

What does bath re-enamelling cost?

Resurfacing from £350. We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

How durable is a resurfaced bath?

Look after it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, so Bryndioddef-isaf is covered. Prices do not change with location.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Landlord and trade work in Bryndioddef-isaf

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

What we’re called out for in Bryndioddef-isaf

By the time a bath is a few decades old, it may have a mix of issues: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Resurfacing sorts them out together.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
  • Lots of chips and rust spots
