Need bath re-enamelling in Bute Town?

For landlords and businesses

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we will arrange it.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Bute Town as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Bute Town

Re-enamelling gives a worn bath a new glossy surface without taking anything out. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. Whether it’s wear marks under the taps and a peeling or bubbling previous coating, we can normally put it right.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

What affects the price in Bute Town

Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • What the surface is made of
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Quotes from your photos

You can normally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Any details about the material
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Aftercare tips

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Have chips seen to early
  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Never use suction bath mats

Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, because they can mark the finish. Repair dripping taps promptly.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

When a repair is not the answer

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • A bath split right through the body

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we work on in Bute Town

  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Common problems we fix in Bute Town

Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.

People generally call us after spotting one of these:

  • Stains that will not shift
  • An old resurfacing that is failing
  • Several chips and rust patches
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change

What to look for in a quote

  • What prep work is covered
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Who turns up on the day
  • How the colour is matched

Choosing a repair company

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Should you replace it?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why book with us

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • No need to remove anything
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

See our full price list and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow most of the day from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can generally be used the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
