Bath re-enamelling & resurfacing in Chinatown, Greater London
Fixed-price bath re-enamelling in Chinatown and the surrounding area, done in a single visit in most cases and guaranteed for a year.
- Resurfacing from £350
- A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
- An outdated colour you’d like to change

Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- How many areas need work
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Access to the area
- The type of damage
Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
How to get a fixed price
Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:
- Any details about the material
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.
Bath re-enamelling in Chinatown without replacing anything
Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Typical jobs include a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and lots of chips and rust spots, in basins & shower trays, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths.
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.

When a repair isn’t the answer
Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- A bath that’s rusted through
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
- Cast iron baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Can I fix it myself?
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Should you replace it?
A replacement frequently means several trades over several days. Resurfacing takes one technician and normally a day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Chinatown. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Aftercare tips
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Store bottles off the bath
Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, because they can mark the finish. Fix dripping taps quickly.
Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.
The process
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes most of the day, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- Once cured, normally by the day after, the bath is ready.
How to prepare
- Let us know about parking or access
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Keep a parking space free if you can

Chinatown questions
Does re-enamelling smell?
A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.
What information do you need?
Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire bath and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Is there any odour?
A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
What happens after I send pictures?
You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Greater London.
Work for landlords and builders
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.
