Bath Re-enamelling across Greater London

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Greater London

Re-enamelling gives a worn bath a new glossy surface without taking anything out. It’s the answer when the whole bath is tired rather than one spot. We regularly repair acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths, and common reasons people contact us are a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping.

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for the best part of a day from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the day after.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling

The gloss on enamel is thin, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
  • A roll-top that’s seen better days
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough

Repairs by material

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

When a repair isn’t the answer

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • A bath that’s rusted through
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What affects the price in Greater London

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The type of damage
  • How much damage there is

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Send photos for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:

  • Any details about the material
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One picture of the whole bath

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price.
