Bath re-enamelling at your home in Clapham
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. We’re frequently asked to fix wear marks under the taps and a coloured bath you want in white, across acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops.
Every job is backed for twelve months in Clapham and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Can I fix it myself?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually, from your pictures. The main factors are:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How many items we do on one visit
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Unusual colours or finishes
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Getting a price from pictures
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- One picture of the whole bath
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- The material, if you know it
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
For a price in Clapham, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
Repairing versus replacing in Clapham
Replacing a bath generally involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Re-enamelling takes one technician and normally one day, with the bath ready the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Why us?
- Work done at your home or business
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- Generally one visit, start to finish

Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
Work for landlords and builders
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.
Questions from Clapham
How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Clapham?
Prices start from £350. We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item with your EX6 postcode.
Is there a smell?
Yes, while we’re applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
What do you need from me?
Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Do you cover the whole of Devon?
Everywhere in the UK, Clapham included. Travel is included in the price.
How quickly can you book me in?
We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.
Honest limits
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
- A metal bath with a through crack
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.
What we work on
- Basins & shower trays
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
What happens on the day
We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes the best part of a day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
Getting ready for the visit
- Clear the area around the damage
- Open a window if you can
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
Get a quote
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Store bottles off the bath
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, do not use suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.
Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
