Bath re-enamelling for Collin homes

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material and finish
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The colour and finish to match

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear photos are generally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or call us. We will say right away whether it can be repaired.

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Collin

A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. If you are dealing with an old resurfacing that’s failing and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough, we can usually put it right.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Common questions in Collin

How do I book?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Will the new finish last?

That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and it’s guaranteed for a year.

Do you cover the entire of Dumfries and Galloway?

We cover the whole UK, including Collin and the rest of Dumfries and Galloway. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll offer you dates.

Are there extra charges for Collin?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Do the materials smell?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working.

Can you fix a peeling bath coating?

Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.

Different materials, different repairs

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

For landlords and businesses

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

For anyone letting property in or around Collin, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will price them together.

Repair or replace in Collin?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What happens on the day

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a full day, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Collin?

Many baths we resurface have simply been well used, and only the surface is worn. The body of the bath is generally perfectly sound.

Customers usually contact us about:

  • A roll-top that’s seen better days
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough

Choosing a repair company

How to look after the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Avoid suction-cup mats

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, so limescale can’t build up.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading and make the job bigger. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
