Repair or replace in Cookridge?
Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.
Why book with us
- One visit for most repairs
- Free fixed quotes from pictures
- Straight answers about what a repair can do
- Colour mixed on the day to match

Bath re-enamelling in Cookridge without replacing anything
Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, and you can use the bath the next day. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. Our repair technicians work on cast iron baths, pressed steel baths and basins & shower trays, and the jobs we see most are a peeling or bubbling previous coating and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean.
You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

What else we do in Cookridge
Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Cookridge
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
Do I have to be there?
We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.
What areas do you cover?
Across the UK, so Cookridge is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
Will it make a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.
How quickly can you book me in?
Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Work for landlords and builders
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.
What we can’t put right
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:
- A bath that is rusted through
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.
Materials we repair
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
How it works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take the best part of a day, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- The bath is left to cure and can generally be used the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Open a window if you can
How to get a price
You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. You will know the full cost before you book. We look at:
- What kind of damage it is
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How many items we do on one visit
- The colour and finish to match
Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Send pictures for a quote
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Details of any past repairs
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
For a price in Cookridge, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
Looking after it afterwards
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Get any chip repaired quickly
Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface.
