Bath re-enamelling in Coppenhall Moss, done in place
When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, re-enamelling is typically the most cost-effective option. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. Whether it’s several chips and rust patches and an outdated colour you’d like to change, we can help.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are not left on your own once we have gone.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
The process
We turn up when we said we would and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take most of the day, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Let the surface dry out before the visit

How to look after the repair
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- Never use suction bath mats
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Repair dripping taps early
Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
Why repair rather than replace?
A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Re-enamelling renews the whole surface without moving it. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

What we’re called out for in Coppenhall Moss
Enamel wears gradually. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use dull the surface, typically first under the taps and around the waste.
Look out for these signs:
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- Lots of chips and rust spots
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
- Wear marks under the taps

Work for landlords and builders
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.
Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
