Landlords, agents and businesses in Cornish Hall End

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Cornish Hall End as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a bath normally involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Re-enamelling takes one technician and typically one day, and the bath can be used the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

The process

We turn up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes a full day, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

Related advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

FAQs for Cornish Hall End

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you will get one combined price.

Is the work guaranteed?

How long is the bath unusable?

Generally a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.

A little, during the work. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.

Yes, white is the usual choice. Mention the colour you want when you send photos.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Cornish Hall End?

By the time a bath is a few decades old, it may have a mix of issues: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste

Choosing a repair company

Keeping it looking good

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface

The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

What a repair can’t fix

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.
