Resurfacing renews the entire surface of the bath without taking anything out. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. We are often asked to fix a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and an outdated colour you’d like to change, across cast iron baths, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths.
Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Questions from Corntown
Will you leave a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.
Does the bath have to be removed?
No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.
Can you change the colour of my bath?
Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Typically, yes. The old repair comes out first.
Do the materials smell?
It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Do you cover the entire of Devon?
All of Devon, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.
What happens after I send photos?
We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Corntown?
A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and scrubbing it wears it down further. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Several chips and rust patches
- A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
- An old resurfacing that’s failing
- Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
What your quote should include
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- Whether they match the colour on site
- What happens if they find more damage
- How soon you can use it again
What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. There is no area surcharge for Corntown. What changes the price is:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- How many areas need work
- The type of damage
- Doing more than one item at once
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Corntown. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Quotes from your photos
You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:
- The material, if you know it
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.
Looking after it afterwards
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
Should you replace it?
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

What happens on the day
Your technician turns up when we said we would and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take a full day, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s usually ready the following day.
Before we arrive
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
