Bath re-enamelling for Corris homes

Bath re-enamelling in Corris, done in place

Re-enamelling gives a worn bath a new glossy surface without taking anything out. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. We are often asked to fix an original cast iron bath that needs restoring and a peeling or bubbling previous coating, in basins & shower trays, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Corris and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

What a repair cannot fix

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
  • A bath that’s rusted through

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • Store bottles off the bath

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, so limescale cannot build up.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading and make the job bigger. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

Common questions in Corris

How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Corris?

Resurfacing from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Do you cover Corris?

We do. We send a technician to Corris for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

How do I book?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

Does re-enamelling smell?

Yes, while we are applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It usually takes most of the day, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s normally ready the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Getting a price

Advice

Landlords, agents and businesses in Corris

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Common problems we fix in Corris

Previous coatings can fail too, lifting by the plughole or blistering. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • Stains that will not shift
  • A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating

What to look for in a quote

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • How to look after the finish
  • What prep work is covered

10 questions to ask before you book

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Resurfacing takes one technician and generally a day, with the bath back in use the following day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A repair normally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
