Bath Re-enamelling in Cropper
We travel to Cropper for full bath re-enamelling and resurfacing. Nothing is taken out, and the work is guaranteed.
- Resurfacing from £350
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Cropper
Most baths are re-enamelled in a day, with the bath ready to use the following day. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. We regularly repair Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths, and the jobs we see most are thin, worn enamel in places and an old resurfacing that’s failing.
Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

The process
Visits start with a quick look at the job together. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. It normally takes the best part of a day.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
How to prepare
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Have a window or extractor fan available

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
Advice
DIY repairs versus a professional job
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Many baths we resurface have simply been well used, with nothing wrong except the surface. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is usually as strong as ever.
You may need us if you’ve spotted:
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- A roll-top that’s seen better days

FAQs for Cropper
What do you need from me?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.
Will the bath be moved?
No, it stays where it is. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room masked and ventilated.
What areas do you cover?
The entire UK, including all of Derbyshire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll offer you dates.
What happens next?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.
Is there any odour?
There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Normally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.
How long will the bath be out of use?
Most baths are done in a day, ready the next day. We give you timings with the quote.
Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Store bottles off the bath
Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, do not use suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.
Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time, and each one adds to the preparation. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Cropper. The price reflects:
- What kind of damage it is
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Getting a price from photos
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:
- Any details about the material
- Something in shot to show the size
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
What we can’t put right
It helps to know what we cannot do:
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Holes rusted through the metal
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
What we work on
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
Why repair rather than replace?
There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the whole room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Prices start from £350. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
