How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- How many items we do on one visit
Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Quotes from your pictures
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:
- A picture taken from further back
- Something in shot to show the size
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- What it’s made of, if you know
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.
Bath re-enamelling in Curridge without replacing anything
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. If you have an old resurfacing that’s failing and worn patches where water runs and sits, we can usually put it right, on acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths alike.
In a village like Curridge, some baths have been in for many years. If the bath is sound, bath re-enamelling gives it a new lease of life without disturbing the rest of the room.
You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

How the visit works
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to most of the day, including clearing up. Somewhere as small as Curridge, access is normally the main thing to plan. Once we’re there, the bath re-enamelling works exactly as anywhere else.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Point us to the nearest place to park
Getting a price
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Related advice
What we cannot put right
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
- A bath that is rusted through
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Acrylic baths
- Cast iron baths
Looking after it afterwards
So the finish stays in good condition:
- Store bottles off the bath
- Never use suction bath mats
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
Common questions in Curridge
I let a flat near Newbury Racecourse station. Can you help between tenants?
Yes, landlords and agents book us regularly.
Is it worth repairing old baths in a period home in Curridge?
In most cases: period pieces can be hard to match if replaced. We will give you an honest view from photos.
Do the materials smell?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working that clears as it cures.
Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?
Yes. Inside and out if you’d like.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Does the bath have to be removed?
No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
DIY kit or professional repair?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Work for landlords and builders
Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
