About our bath re-enamelling in Danbury
Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. We regularly repair cast iron baths, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths, and people most often call us about a roll-top that’s seen better days and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Danbury
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Danbury
Can you change the colour of my bath?
Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Usually, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.
Do you need to take the bath out?
Not at all. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room protected and ventilated.
Can you quote from photos?
Usually, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
How long is the bath unusable?
Most baths are done in a day, ready the day after. We’ll confirm timings when we quote.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
The process
Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes the best part of a day, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the next day.
Before we arrive
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
Getting a price
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

DIY kit or professional repair?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
What a repair cannot fix
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
- Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Doing more than one item at once
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Danbury. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Quotes from your pictures
Phone pictures are fine. Just make sure we can see:
- Details of any past repairs
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A picture taken from further back
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.
Why repair rather than replace?
For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s much quicker too. Prices start from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Why us?
- Same prices wherever you are
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- Every repair guaranteed for a year
- Colour mixed on the day to match

Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Looking after it afterwards
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
