Need bath re-enamelling in Goostrey?

Bath re-enamelling in Goostrey, done in place

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. Typical jobs include stains that won’t shift and a coloured bath you want in white, across acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Goostrey as everywhere else we work.

Questions from Goostrey

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Which areas do you work in?

The whole UK, including all of Cheshire East. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work. It fades as everything cures.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Prices start from £350. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
  • Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading, and each one adds to the preparation. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Goostrey

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Common problems we fix in Goostrey

Hard water speeds up the wear, and gritty cleaners are the worst culprits.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
  • Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
  • Thin, worn enamel in places

What your quote should include

  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • How your room will be protected
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

10 questions to ask before you book

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

What happens on the day

Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. It normally takes most of the day, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the next day.

How to prepare

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
