Bath re-enamelling in Guide without replacing anything

After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, and we take our time over it. Whether it’s brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and an old resurfacing that’s failing, we can usually put it right, on Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and acrylic baths alike.

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.

Aftercare tips

To keep it looking its best:

  • Have chips seen to early
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, so limescale can’t build up.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Repairing versus replacing in Guide

Replacing a bath usually involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the following day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What you get with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Colour-matched on site
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The type of damage
  • What the surface is made of
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Common questions in Guide

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

How long is the bath unusable?

One day for most baths and can be used the day after. We give you timings with the quote.

Does the bath have to be removed?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so nothing else is disturbed.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send pictures.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.

When to call us in Guide

Previous coatings can fail too, peeling around the waste or bubbling. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • An old resurfacing that’s failing
  • A roll-top that’s seen better days
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
  • Wear marks under the taps

What your quote should include

  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • Who will actually do the work

10 questions to ask before booking

What happens on the day

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. Allow most of the day.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Ask for a price

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
