Bath re-enamelling at your home in Haroldsbridge

Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. Whether it’s staining under the taps and around the waste and a coating lifting around the plughole, we can help, whatever the material.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

FAQs for Haroldsbridge

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Can you change the colour of my bath?

Yes, white is the usual choice. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Haroldsbridge?

Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your PE13 postcode.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

How it works

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to a full day.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many areas need work

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

When we’d advise against a repair

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths

Should you replace it?

Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: they’re heavy, often need breaking up, and a new one is not cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

What you get with us

  • No need to remove anything
  • No extra charge for your area
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Take a look at our prices page or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

How to care for the repair

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Don’t leave a chip unrepaired

The first few days matter most: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Haroldsbridge

Many baths we resurface have simply been well used, and only the surface is worn. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is generally as strong as ever.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
  • A roll-top that’s seen better days
  • An old resurfacing that’s failing

Before you book anyone

  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • How soon you can use it again
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How the room is protected while they work
