About our bath re-enamelling in Keighley
The bath stays where it is, so the taps, tiles and plumbing are not touched. It generally takes one visit, and can be used again the day after. We’re often asked to fix worn patches where water runs and sits and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough, across cast iron baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we will sort it.
When to call us in Keighley
A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.
Get in touch if you’ve noticed:
- A roll-top that’s seen better days
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- Wear marks under the taps
- Stains that will not shift
What your quote should include
- How soon you can use it again
- What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
Why repair rather than replace?
If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is typically much cheaper than replacing it, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
What you get with us

Can I fix it myself?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
Common questions in Keighley
Do you resurface freestanding baths?
Yes. Inside and out.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.
Will there be a smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.
Will there be fumes?
Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
In most cases. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Mention it when you send photos.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.
Will the bath be moved?
No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so the tiles and taps stay put.
Will the new finish last?
Care for it and it lasts. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.
What affects the price in Keighley
Prices start from £350. There is no charge for travel to Keighley. The price depends on:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- Doing more than one item at once
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- The colour and finish to match
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Keighley. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Send pictures for a quote
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
Send us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Keighley, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

The process
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take a full day, including clearing up.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
How to prepare
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Open a window if you can
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
Advice
Looking after it afterwards
To keep it looking its best:
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
What we cannot put right
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- A bath split right through the body
- Holes rusted through the metal
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
