Bath re-enamelling near Leigh

Bath re-enamelling in Leigh, done in place

Resurfacing renews the entire surface of the bath without a refit. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. We’re often asked to fix staining under the taps and around the waste and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring, across pressed steel baths, cast iron baths and acrylic baths.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

What we do, step by step

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take the best part of a day. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

  • Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough

Common questions in Leigh

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

Do you work in Leigh?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Leigh and the rest of Wigan. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will the new finish last?

A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.

Can tenants book a repair?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Do not leave a chip unrepaired

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, to stop limescale building up.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Access to the area
  • The material and finish
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How much damage there is

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Send photos for a quote

You can take the photos on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:

  • One picture of the entire bath
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

If you are in Leigh and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Repairing versus replacing in Leigh

When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Prices start from £350. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why us?

  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • No need to remove anything

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

Landlord and trade work in Leigh

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

For anyone letting property in or around Leigh, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.
