Bath re-enamelling at your home in Leverington

The bath stays where it is, so the taps, tiles and plumbing are not touched. Most baths are done in one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. Typical jobs include staining under the taps and around the waste and chips and rust in more than one place, across acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

How it works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. Allow the best part of a day, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

How to prepare

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Cambridgeshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Repair or replace: which is better?

For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s much quicker too. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • We leave the room as we found it

Leverington: your questions answered

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

How long does re-enamelling take?

Usually a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.

Do you charge for travel?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Typically, yes. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

How do I book?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Do you need to take the bath out?

Not at all. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room protected and ventilated.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Holes rusted through the metal

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

What affects the price in Leverington

Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • Access to the area
  • How many areas need work
  • The material and finish
  • What kind of damage it is

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your photos

When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale cannot build up.

Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface.
