How we handle bath re-enamelling in Lundin Links
Most baths are re-enamelled in a day, with the bath ready to use the following day. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. We’re frequently asked to fix a bath in a colour that no longer suits and thin, worn enamel in places, on basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and Victorian roll-tops.

What we do, step by step
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It typically takes the best part of a day, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- The bath is left to cure and can usually be used the next day.
Before we arrive
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Let us know if it has been repaired before

Lundin Links: your questions answered

Do you work in Lundin Links?
Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Lundin Links. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Can you do the outside of a roll-top?
Yes. Inside and out.
How durable is a resurfaced bath?
A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
Do you need to take the bath out?
No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Aftercare tips
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:
- Store bottles off the bath
- Do not leave a chip unrepaired
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, and rinse off any bath products.
Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
