Bath re-enamelling near Madron

About our bath re-enamelling in Madron

We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. If you’re dealing with lots of chips and rust spots and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee.

10 questions to ask before you book

Landlord and trade work in Madron

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

Why repair rather than replace?

If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is typically much cheaper than replacing it, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s also far quicker. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

What you get with us

  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Work done at your home or business
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

Read our prices page or bath cost comparison.

How the visit works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Plan for a full day. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the bath is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Clear the area around the damage

Related advice

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How hard the colour is to match

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed price

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs

Most clients in Madron get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

FAQs for Madron

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Madron included. There is no extra charge for travel.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

In most cases. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Mention it when you send pictures.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes, white is the usual choice. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole bath and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Respect the curing time we give you

Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, because they can mark the finish. Fix dripping taps quickly.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time and make the job bigger. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
