Need bath re-enamelling in Mwyndy?

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Mwyndy

After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. We work on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and basins & shower trays, and the jobs we see most are chips and rust in more than one place and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

How to look after the repair

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath

Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, because they can mark the finish. Fix dripping taps quickly.

Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface.

When a repair is not the answer

We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
  • A metal bath with a through crack

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Should you replace it?

There are times replacing is better: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. Otherwise, resurfacing typically wins. Prices start from £350. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

What you get with us

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • One price list for the entire UK

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

For landlords and businesses

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Mwyndy use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it typically costs far less than a refit.

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Repairs by material

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take most of the day, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s normally ready the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Mwyndy: your questions answered

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied. It clears as the materials cure.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

Do you need to take the bath out?

No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.

How long will the bath be out of use?

Most baths are done in a day, ready the following day. We’ll confirm timings when we quote.
