Bath re-enamelling for Navidale homes

Different materials, different repairs

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Bath re-enamelling in Navidale, done in place

Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and we can resurface acrylic baths as well. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. Whether it’s a bath in a colour that no longer suits and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

What we do, step by step

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which usually takes a full day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let us know about parking or access

When to call us in Navidale

Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. We strip what’s failing and start again.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Chips and rust in more than one place

  • How to care for the finish
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

10 questions to ask before booking

Repair or replace: which is better?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and typically one day, with the bath ready the following day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

FAQs for Navidale

Do you cover the whole of Highland?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Navidale. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Is there any odour?

Expect a mild smell while we are working, which fades afterwards.

How long is the bath unusable?

One day for most baths, ready the day after. We give you timings with the quote.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

Yes, we do this regularly. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:

  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Have chips seen to early
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, don’t use suction bath mats, and don’t leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.

If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • The material
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How easy the damage is to reach

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Quotes from your pictures

You can normally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

For landlords and businesses

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
