Bath re-enamelling in North Burlingham, done in place
Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. We are frequently asked to fix a roll-top that’s seen better days and a coating lifting around the plughole, in basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee in North Burlingham and across Norfolk.

Work for landlords and builders
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Norfolk and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:
- The colour and finish to match
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The type of damage
Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Getting a price from photos
Phone pictures are fine. Just ensure we can see:
- One picture of the whole bath
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Any details about the material
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.
DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
North Burlingham: your questions answered
Is there any odour?
It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
Which areas do you work in?
We work UK-wide, and that includes North Burlingham. Prices do not change with location.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
How durable is a resurfaced bath?
It depends on preparation, use and care. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and our work is guaranteed for a year.
Is there a smell?
Yes, while we are applying the finish. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
Is it messy?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Usually, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
Common problems we fix in North Burlingham
Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, lifting by the plughole or blistering. We strip what’s failing and start again.
Clients usually contact us about:
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- Lots of chips and rust spots
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
What to look for in a quote
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
- How soon you can use it again
Should you replace it?
Replacing a bath generally involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Prices start from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Why us?
- Fixed prices from your photos
- One visit for most repairs
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- A year’s guarantee on all work

Looking after it afterwards
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
