Bath re-enamelling in Nursted without replacing anything
The bath stays where it is, so the taps, tiles and plumbing are not touched. It typically takes one visit, and can be used again the next day. We are frequently asked to fix brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and an outdated colour you’d like to change, on cast iron baths, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Nursted: your questions answered
Do you cover Nursted?
Yes, we do. We send a technician to Nursted for every job, with no extra charge for travel.
Do you charge for travel?
There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
Does re-enamelling smell?
There is some smell while the coating is applied, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It fades as the coating cures.
Do you need to take the bath out?
No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.
Can tenants book a repair?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just make sure the landlord agrees.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Nursted?
Previous coatings can fail too, lifting by the plughole or blistering. We strip what’s failing and start again.
Most people contact us when they notice something like this:
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- Stains that will not shift
- Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
What your quote should include
- Aftercare advice
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
When we would advise against a repair
A repair isn’t right for every job, including:
- A bath split right through the body
- A bath that’s rusted through
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

How the visit works
From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a full day, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- The bath is left to cure and can usually be used the next day.
How to prepare
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Open a window if you can
Getting a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Landlord and trade work in Nursted
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
If you manage property in Nursted, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.
Why repair rather than replace?
When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Prices start from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Do not leave a chip unrepaired
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
