Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
What we can’t put right
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- A bath that’s rusted through
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
- A metal bath with a through crack
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
What we work on
- Victorian roll-tops
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
What we do, step by step
We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a full day, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
How to prepare
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Let us know about parking or access
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
Getting a price
Send us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in Oving, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
Advice
What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Oving. The price depends on:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How hard the colour is to match
- The material and finish
- The size and number of damaged areas
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Send photos for a quote
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- The material, if you know it
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Oving
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you’re refitting the entire room anyway.
