Landlords, agents and businesses in Pettinain

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Pettinain

The bath stays where it is, so the taps, tiles and plumbing are not touched. It normally takes one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. Typical jobs include a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and an outdated colour you’d like to change, across cast iron baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee.

What we do, step by step

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a full day. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

When we’d advise against a repair

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths

Repairing versus replacing in Pettinain

A new bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing renews the entire surface without moving it. Prices start from £350. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

  • A fixed quote before you book
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

Read our pricing or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
  • Never use suction bath mats

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, to stop limescale building up.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time and make the job bigger. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

What we’re called out for in Pettinain

Hard water speeds up the wear, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed:

  • Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Lots of chips and rust spots

What your quote should include

  • When it can be used again
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • What prep work is covered
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers

Choosing a repair company

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.
