Bath re-enamelling for Pitsmoor homes

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material and finish

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed price

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Where you are, by postcode

Most customers in Pitsmoor get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

About our bath re-enamelling in Pitsmoor

Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and we can resurface acrylic baths as well. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. Our technicians work on Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths, and the jobs we see most are a coloured bath you want in white and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Re-enamelling is one technician, generally one day, with the bath back in use the following day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Pitsmoor. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why book with us

  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

Read our pricing or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

What we cannot put right

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we work on in Pitsmoor

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

Pitsmoor: your questions answered

Do you come to Pitsmoor?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Pitsmoor for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Can you fix a peeling bath coating?

In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Mention it when you send photos.

Does re-enamelling smell?

There is some smell while the coating is applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.

Do you cover the entire of Sheffield?

We work UK-wide, so Pitsmoor is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

How long is the bath unusable?

One day for most baths and can be used the day after. We give you timings with the quote.

The process

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a full day, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s normally ready the next day.

How to prepare

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

How to get a price

Upload pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you are in Pitsmoor, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Advice

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Keeping it looking good

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Never use suction bath mats
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading, and each one adds to the preparation. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
