What happens on the day
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes a full day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Before we arrive
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Make sure the room can be ventilated

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Reigate
After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. We regularly repair cast iron baths, Victorian roll-tops and basins & shower trays, and the jobs we see most are stains that won’t shift and an outdated colour you’d like to change.
Every job is backed for twelve months in Reigate and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

When a repair isn’t the answer
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- A bath split right through the body
- A bath that’s rusted through
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Reigate
Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?
Yes, we do this regularly. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.
Can tenants book a repair?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Is it messy?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.
How do I book?
Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Will there be fumes?
Yes, while we are applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
How long is the bath unusable?
One day for most baths, ready the following day. We give you timings with the quote.
What we are called out for in Reigate
The gloss on enamel is thin, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.
Common reasons people in Reigate contact us include:
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- Stains that won’t shift
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
Questions to ask before you book
- If travel is included in the price
- How soon you can use it again
- Who turns up on the day
- What happens if they find more damage
Should you replace it?
Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Re-enamelling is one technician, generally one day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
How to look after the repair
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.
Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface.
What affects the price in Reigate
Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The material and finish
- How much damage there is
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.
Send photos for a quote
Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- Natural light rather than flash
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- The material, if you know it
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can give you a fixed quote.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
