Bath re-enamelling near Roxwell

Bath re-enamelling in Roxwell without replacing anything

We re-enamel plenty of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. We work on cast iron baths, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths, and the jobs we see most are wear marks under the taps and a roll-top that’s seen better days.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Roxwell. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why book with us

  • Work done at your home or business
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing

Landlord and trade work in Roxwell

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll arrange it.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

When we’d advise against a repair

A repair is not always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • Holes rusted through the metal

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

What affects the price in Roxwell

Prices start from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Roxwell. The price reflects:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many areas need work
  • The material and finish

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your pictures

You can normally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Any details about the material
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Do not leave a chip unrepaired
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale

Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, as they can stain. Repair dripping taps promptly.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.

When to call us in Roxwell

Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.

People normally call us when they notice something like this:

  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • Thin, worn enamel in places

What your quote should include

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show

Questions from Roxwell

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we will quote them together.

Can you fix a peeling bath coating?

In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Mention it when you send photos.

Do you work in Roxwell?

We do. We send a technician to Roxwell for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

How durable is a resurfaced bath?

It depends on preparation, use and care. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take most of the day, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

How to prepare

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know about parking or access
