Bath re-enamelling at your home in Shop
Resurfacing renews the entire surface of the bath without taking anything out. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. Typical jobs include staining under the taps and around the waste and several chips and rust patches, in Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths.
Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Shop questions
Do I have to be there?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.
Do you work in Shop?
Yes, we do. We send a technician to Shop for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Are there extra charges for Shop?
We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
What happens next?
You’ll get a fixed quote back. There is no obligation to book.
What do you need from me?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.
How soon can you come?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.
Will the bath be moved?
No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so nothing else is disturbed.
For landlords and businesses
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
Keeping it looking good
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
- Never use suction bath mats
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading and make the job bigger. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
What a repair can’t fix
We will not take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:
- How hard the colour is to match
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- The material and finish
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Shop. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Getting a price from pictures
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- The material, if you know it
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

Can I fix it myself?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Repairing versus replacing in Shop
Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Resurfacing takes one technician and typically a day, and the bath is usable the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A repair normally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

How it works
We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we are there, the work takes the best part of a day for most jobs. We leave the room clean.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.
Getting ready for the visit
- Open a window if you can
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
