Shower tray repair at your home in Shop

Every crack has a cause, and we find it first. A tray that moves needs its support sorting first, so the repair lasts. If you are dealing with chips caused during fitting and a tray that creaks or moves underfoot, we can generally put it right, on ceramic, stone resin and enamelled steel alike.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Keeping it looking good

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Keep heavy bottles on a shelf
  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Give the tray a quick rinse after use

Give the repair its full curing time before showering. After that, gentle cleaning and good ventilation keep it in good shape.

Do not keep using a cracked tray. Water may be getting under the tray, where it causes damage you can’t see.

The process

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The surrounding area is sheeted and masked.
  2. Old sealant is removed if it’s in the way.
  3. The tray is cleaned, keyed and repaired.
  4. We refinish the surface to match the tray.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when you can shower.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Do you need shower tray repair in Shop?

Most cracked trays are trays that flex: without a solid, level base underneath, it flexes each time someone stands on it. Chips typically come from dropped bottles.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A tray that flexes
  • A tray that looks tired however much you clean it
  • Scratches in the surface
  • A crack across the base

Why repair rather than replace?

When the tray is firm and dry underneath, repair is the obvious choice. If water has damaged the floor, or the tray is cracked in several places, a new tray may be better. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

Why Shop customers choose us

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Leaking waste fittings
  • Damage below the tray that needs a builder
  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron
  • Ceramic
  • Enamelled steel
  • Acrylic
  • Stone resin

Different materials, different repairs

Enamelled steel

Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Exposed metal can rust, so early repairs help.

Ceramic

Ceramic trays are hard and glossy. Impacts can chip or crack them, and we match the gloss when we repair them.

Your questions about shower tray repair in Shop

Do you cover Shop?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Shop and the rest of Cornwall. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

How long before I can shower?

Usually the following day. We will tell you the exact time when we finish.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
