Bath re-enamelling in Steward's Green, done in place
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Our repair technicians work on acrylic baths, cast iron baths and Victorian roll-tops, and people most frequently call us about a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and a roll-top that’s seen better days.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
How it works
You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It usually takes the best part of a day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s usually ready the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Aftercare tips
Aftercare is simple:
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
- Store bottles off the bath
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Respect the curing time we give you
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
Repairing versus replacing in Steward's Green
A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and days without a bathroom. Re-enamelling renews the whole surface with the bath left where it is. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
What you get with us
- Generally one visit, start to finish
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- Work done at your home or business
- No extra charge for your area

What happens if you find more damage?
We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Is there a call-out fee?
We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

How long will the bath be out of use?
One day for most baths and can be used the day after. We give you timings with the quote.
