Bath re-enamelling in Swansea

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Swansea

When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, resurfacing is normally the best value. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. Whether it’s a peeling or bubbling previous coating and worn patches where water runs and sits, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

What we can’t put right

We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • A bath split right through the body

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The colour and finish to match
  • What the surface is made of
  • How easy the damage is to reach

We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from pictures

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Common problems we fix in Swansea

In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and gritty cleaners are the worst culprits.

Customers normally contact us about:

  • Several chips and rust patches
  • Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating

Why repair rather than replace?

If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is generally much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s much quicker too. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Swansea. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Everything repaired in place

The process

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for the best part of a day from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Clear the area around the damage

Advice

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Swansea

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Do you work in Swansea?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Swansea. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How long does re-enamelling take?

Typically one day, with the bath ready the day after. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.

Which areas do you work in?

All of Swansea, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Swansea?

Prices start from £350. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

Can you quote from pictures?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Swansea

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
